Toyota's latest and better Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Toyota has unveiled a better competitor against the Chevrolet volt. Prius Prime, the most efficient plug-in hybrid vehicle yet.

Nathan Kokes, Brand Manager for Advanced Technology Vehicles, Toyota, said, "This is the next generation of our Prius plug-in vehicle. We are calling it Prime because now it represents the best of hybrid vehicles. It’s got more electric vehicle range, greater overall efficiency, and it’s got a great new sleek design".

The Toyota Prius Prime features some classic changes in the overall body design, an upgraded gas mileage of the previous Toyota plug-in hybrid (Prius) which offered 40 KPLe (95 MPGe) & an 869 km (540 miles) range. Now, the Prius Prime has an impressive 51 KPLe (120 MPGe) & over 966 km (600 miles) of range, with a battery doubled in capacity from 4.4 kilowatts to 8.8 kilowatts without sacrificing weight.

Also features an adaptive cruise control to modify the speed of your vehicle based on how fast the car in front of you travels. And a lane assist which gently pushes your steering wheel when you drift out of your lane.

The Prime’s interior upgrades to an 11.6-inch HD screen, and comes with a pinch-to-zoom feature as your smartphone.

The Prius Prime is a sporty plug-in hybrid that can drive for 35 km ( 22 miles in EV mode) after 5 hours of charging only.
