On my post about the cry of the South Korean company (Samsung) to its customers who are in possession of its globally recognized "exploding" phone (SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 7), science & technology has proved that the incident is likely to occur with the use of Lithium -ion batteries.

A lithium-ion battery (also called Li-ion battery) is a member of a family of rechargeable battery types in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and back when charging. Li-ion batteries use an intercalated lithium compound as one electrode material, compared to the metallic lithium used in a non-rechargeable lithium battery.
Lithium-ion batteries are common in home electronics . They are one of the most popular types of rechargeable batteries for portable electronics, with a high energy density and low self-discharge . L-ion batteries are also growing in popularity for battery electric vehicle and aerospace applications. Handheld electronics mostly use L-ion batteries based on lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO 2), which offers high energy density, but presents safety risks, especially when damaged.

Lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous under some conditions and can pose a safety risk, since they, unlike other rechargeable batteries, contain a flammable electrolyte and are kept pressurized. As a result of this, the testing standards for these batteries are more stringent than those for acid-electrolyte batteries, requiring both a broader range of test conditions and additional battery-specific tests.
Though this seem as a viable excuse, it doesn't explain why Samsung's phone exploded, because they aren't the only Smartphone manufacturing companies using the Lithium-ion batteries nor is it their first attempt of using such.
I presume that they embarked on flagship of a product that had not been properly taken care of and tested accurately. And this is as a result of their unbridled efforts to constantly produce phones every months, amass wealth, and attain recognition as the world's largest Smartphones manufacturing company.
Almost every months, after the flagship of a phone, unveils another, adding 2 or 3 features (...most having the same feel, but different names), and continues in that cycle. Exploring the minds of their devout customers, without a considerable space of time to access and test their products.
They should learn and take a cue from Apple Inc. (iPhones maker), who at every two years, after the flagship of a powerful phone, review customers' opinions about the products, advance from the initial flagship, and unveils a more powerful device, satisfying their customers in every possible ways.
As a Yoruba adage says "all day for the thief; one day for the owner"..... This explains that, Samsung had gone by with those attitudes, and now the reality of efficient manufacturing & customer satisfaction is here!
