TRENDING: PLUG-IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES (PEVs).

As technology advances and our streets are being filled with magical vehicles (self-driving vehicles, plug-in electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles etc), rampant of all are the Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs). Thus, it is pertinent that we intimate ourselves on what these vehicles are, their importance and how they work.



There are above 20 models offered from more than a dozen different brands—in a range of sizes, styles, prices and power trains to suit a wide range of consumers. To list, but a few are: Audi  A3 E-tron (PHEV) - Luxury, BMW i8 (PHEV) - Coupe, Cadillac ELR (PHEV) - Coupe, Chevy Volt (PHEV) - Sedan, Fiat 500e (EV) - Coupe, Hyundai Ioniq (EV,HEV & PHEV) - Sedan, Kia Soul (EV) - Sedan, Mercedes B class (EV) - Sedan, Nissan Leaf (EV) - Sedan, and Toyota Prius Prime (PHEV) - Sedan.

A plug-in electric vehicle ( PEV) is any vehicle that can be recharged from an off-board electric power source, such as wall sockets, and the electricity stored in the rechargeable battery packs drive. PEV is a subset of electric vehicles that includes all-electric or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Electric Vehicle Conversions of hybrid electric vehicles and conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.
This feature distinguishes them from HEVs (Hybrid Electric Vehicles), which supplement ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) power with battery power but cannot be plugged in.



There are two basic types of PEVs: EVs/ BEVs and PHEVs.

How does PEVs help one and add to the growth of a society? There are many answers to that. They can save you money, while helping to keep your community, country, and world clean and secure. Below are key benefits of PEVs and will be intensively explained later.
* High Fuel Economy, Low Fuel Cost.
* Low Emissions.
* Charging or refueling your battery power at your convenience, could be in your home, church or wherever there's external source of electricity.
* Minimal level of maintenance and reduces maintenance costs.
