A report from New Scientist states that a Chinese company, known as China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, with the government's backing, is building a huge Spaceplane that would carry up to 20 passengers - the world's biggest Spaceplane.
Although the initiative is not new as other spaceflight companies such as the Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo is planned to carry 6 passengers, but the Chinese company has significantly added to the numbers, aiming to accommodate more passengers.
The company is said to have designed two versions of a one-piece rocket that would take off on its own power : a 10-tonne design that could fly 5 people to an altitude of 100 kilometers, and a 100-tonne version with a 39.4 feet wingspan that would fly to 20 passengers to an altitude of 130 kilometers - both to take off vertically like a rocket and land on the runway automatically without any ground or on-board intervention.
Also, the flights will be ready in the next two years, and if proven to be safe, would begin payload by 2020, to carry passengers for about $200,000 to $250,000 per ride.
