CHIP: Far Intelligent Than Your Dog.

CHIP the Robot dog

There is a whole lot of impressive technology now and more in years to come.

Just as we highlighted in our posts concerning robot baby, robot nanny and other robotic technology, we have here a robot dog that is far fun to have and more intelligent than your dog. You think I'm exaggerating, right? OK!

Meet CHiP, the world's first lovable robot dog, a creation of WowWee Group Limited, a privately owned, Hong Kong-based company that focuses on toy-making, best known for the Robosapien, its hit product in 2004.

Let's cut the story, CHIP features a lot of advanced technology to impress you. CHIP has an Infrared Vision and BeaconSense technology that it uses to sense its environment and adapt.
With the help of its Adaptive Personality, CHiP changes and grows, but depending on how you play with it. For instance, you give a Thumbs Up to it when it does something you like - CHiP will take note of that, learn what you like and will adapt and change to become a better pet for you. Also, WowWee is said to have lots of features and is constantly adding new features and pushing firmware updates.  Just like every regular dog that you buy today, but with time and proper training, grows to be your favorite responsive pet, CHIP is believed to have the same capacity.
Its GestureSense allows it to know when it is being picked up or pushed, feel touch, respond to gestures and also a Voice recognition technology that enables it to recognize your voice.
CHIP has a Bluetooth Low Energy technology, and when paired with a smartphone via the app, you get full control over it, as well as play fetch with it by using a special ball.

Interesting of all is, you do not have to monitor it battery level to probably limit your time with it or switch it on/off, CHIP, when on a low battery, automatically from wherever it is, finds its way back to its SmartBed to recharge itself. Also, if you’re putting on the SmartBand, you can make CHIP follow you around.
