Google Pixel/Plus: Rumours Unfold.

Today is the day we have been waiting for. The day that all rumors and speculations will be put to rest. The D-day when Google will unveil its latest smartphones (Google Pixel and Pixel XL) and hopefully the Google Home (Alexa twin) in San Francisco.

Google uploaded a short teaser video on YouTube that indicates the date, a rectangle shape smartphone, and the Google "G" logo. Many speculations have it coming that Google dropped the usual Nexus name in favor of its "G" logo on the upcoming devices, some say the smartphones were built by HTC — a 5-inch and 5.5-inch model rumored to be called the Pixel X and Pixel XL — and that they may even feature an all-metal design.

Now, a new rumour has surfaced claiming that Huawei was supposed to build the upcoming smartphones but it declined on basis that the Pixels would not carry the Huawei logo. Thus, Google took succor in its plan "B" company, HTC, for the manufacturing of these smartphones.

According to Android Police, a source stated that Huawei was initially approached by Google to build the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, but Huawei’s global CEO Richard Yu declined because Google “demanded” that Huawei’s logo should not be present on the smartphones.

That seems to be a tenable reason for the company's decline, considering the fact that the brand is a widely recognized phone manufacturing company in all countries, but continues to struggle in the U.S. market and removing its logo from such smartphones (which is believed to be soon widely known and acceptable) will add no benefit to it.

The saga is said to have commenced in 2015 when Huawei made the Nexus 6P for Google and agreed under a condition that the Nexus 6P be sold by all four major U.S. carriers including Verizon. However, on the long run, the Nexus 6P was never made available on any major U.S. network and was sold almost exclusively from the Google Store and through Huawei’s website. The handset was later made available to other retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and B&H.

Be that as it may, today, we will know the real deal - what these phones look like, their specs, and prices. We hope to update you after the event.
