Panasonic is at it again! Alongside its creation of the Invisible Television, has done something that you would not have ordinarily thought of.
Panasonic has rendered useless your regular mirror and invented a smart mirror that takes a photo of your face with its embedded camera and analyzes your facial “flaws” — and then uses a 3-D printer to print a combination pad of foundation and concealer to cover it all up. Hmmmm.... impressive, right? What a better TOOL for Dermatologist and Professional make-up artists!
We are not however surprised at the wonder created by the smart mirror as we were anxiously awaiting its release since its introduction in January at the CES, but the model introduced this week at CEATEC sends the data about your face to a makeup printer that prints out what you need to cover up spots in just few minutes.
The makeup printout is placed on a cheekbone mask sprayed with water and gently smoothed out. The user then lightly presses this onto their cheek, leaving the thin layer of makeup behind. A few moments later, the water has evaporated and you're left with a kind-of temporary tattoo.
According to Engadget, the company says, "the printed patches also take roughly a day to dry and settle before it’s meant to be applied to a person’s face,” - The makeup printer itself will take a few minutes to produce the makeup, and you will need almost a day for the makeup to dry and settle before it can be applied.
This is however a flaw, as I will have to wait almost a whole day before I can properly be made-up or forgo my intended show, just so that I can apply the digital make-up.
What do you think about this new invention? Do you think it can boast of a large reception from its intended consumers? Can you actually get it as a dermatologist or professional make-up artist? Kindly share your comments in the comment box.
