Did you know that you can turn your ordinary/regular bicycle into an electric bicycle?
Yes, very possible! No need to purchase a purpose built electric bicycle when you can turn your favorite ordinary bicycle to an electric bicycle in less than 5mins.
Did i get you wondering why the word "electric" is used with a bicycle? Yes, electric! In this age where almost all the recent vehicles being manufactured and those on our streets have left the conventional setting and carry the electric emblem, it would be wise to be part of the moving success train. In some countries, such as Germany, E-Bikes are already overthrowing conventional bicycles and gaining more popularity. The electric bike market is quickly expanding with almost new options each month. However, finding the right fit for you can be an overwhelming task.
With new automotive technologies comes ease, power, speed and durability.
An electric bicycle, popularly tagged as E-bike, is a bicycle with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion.
Although, purpose built electric bicycles have been for a while now, Geoorbital has taken a different tour by literally reinventing a wheel for your favorite bicycle and affords you the opportunity to make YOUR bicycle electric.
The wheel comes in two sizes (a 26-inch wheel, or 700c front wheel. It’s also compatible with 28-inch and 29-inch wheels, where the wheel uses rim brake) and is designed to be attached to any bike that uses either of the two wheel sizes by removing the bike’s front wheel.
The wheel makes use of a Panasonic 36 V removable lithium-ion battery which charges via USB through an in-built outlet and can also be used as a power bank to charge your phone or a speaker on the go.
The wheel features a pedal-assisted range of up to 50 miles per battery; or alternatively, a 30-mile range for the 26-inch wheel. It also has a 500 W brushless DC motor that the Geoorbital claims will accelerate cyclists to 20 miles per hour in just 6 seconds.
What do you think? Wanna join the train? You can preorder on Kickstarter.
