Impressive that the giant of Africa is almost leaving its local (Africa) territory to join world changing countries in technology.
Digitech, a Nigerian company, focusing on data content and technology innovation, has scheduled its very first conference, tagged “Towards A Data-Driven Economy”, to be held on the 27th & 28th of October, 2016, by 9am - 6pm, at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The conference is geared towards gathering top tech thinkers, global policy influencers, leading investors and start-ups across Africa, to explore the opportunities in big data.
The organizers are seeking for an in-depth exploration of how technology and innovation can impact our communities and unlock economic prosperity, considering the current post-oil economy grappling with recession.
I must say, the conference is packed with insightful and educating topics to be discussed at the plenary session, some of which fascinates me the most are: Data Profiling For Policy Formulation And Social Development, Data Driven Entertainment, and Data Intelligence; The Lifeblood Of Innovation And Marketing.
Some speakers at the conference include: Prof. Yemi Osibajo, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Mr Adebayo Shittu, Minister of Communication; Professor Umaru Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, NCC; Engr/Dr Ogbonaya Onu, Minister of Science and Tech; Juliet Ehimuan, Google’s Country Manager in Nigeria; Jamie Woodruff, Ethical Hacker, Europe; Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, Chairman Openmedia Group; and Uzoma Dozie, MD Diamond Bank.
